Job title: Skilled Mechanical Fitter / Assembler
Location: Samlesbury (predominantly) / Warton
Please note these roles may involve working on a shift pattern which includes rotating days, nights and/or weekends. Flexibility is crucial for these roles.
Salary: £42,084
What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting mechanical tasks across a wide range of products throughout the full production lifecycle; from detail manufacturing, minor/major assemblies to final assembly acceptance and delivery to customers.
- Performing fitting, removal, and inspection of mechanical components in a production or development environment using various fitting techniques such as:
- Drilling
- Reaming
- Countersinking
- Filing
- Frazing
- Riveting
- Fastening
- Connecting
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety rules and regulations by maintaining safe systems of work
- Reading and interpreting Engineering Drawings
- Performing fault diagnosis and defect rectification
- Adhering to Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and tool control policies
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
Applicants must hold both of the following Qualifications and provide evidence of these to your Recruiter prior to progressing in this process:
- A time served Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3) in the Engineering and Manufacturing Discipline from a recognised Awarding Organisation (i.e. SEMTA)
- An Academic Vocational Qualification (Level 3 or above) in an Engineering and Manufacturing subject from a recognised Awarding Organisation (i.e. EAL or City & Guilds)
- This may take the form of service records for those that carried this out whilst serving in the Armed Forces

Desirable:
- Experience of mechanical work using various fitting techniques in an aircraft or related industry

The Manufacturing Team:
As a member of the Manufacturing Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of production activities, following defined operating procedures to meet quality and safety standards. Suitable candidates will have a solid understanding of safe systems of work, including mechanical operations, tag-out procedures, confined spaces, working at height, and other specific safety protocols.
