Job title: Senior Supply Chain Professional
Location: Weapon Systems UK, Barrow in Furness – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £45,383 (Depending on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- Discharge procurement activities in accordance with WSUK governance and compliance protocols
- Manage supplier relationships and provide support to the team to drive supplier performance. Management of Risks and opportunities relating to operational and/or contractual performance are assessed, identified, managed and escalated as appropriate
- Manage purchase order book reviews – engaging both internal stakeholders and suppliers, presenting order status, supporting resolutions to order related queries as requested by internal stakeholders
- Ensure maintenance of data topicality within the ERP system, report on Order Book Management Performance, utilising standard metrics and ensure trends are identified, analysed, and escalated as appropriate
- Management of suppliers, ensuring Supplier engagement is managed and aligned to the latest WSUK supplier framework, procedures and practises. Ensure applicable Terms, Conditions, Legislative flow downs and all other contractual requirements are effectively established and managed with suppliers. Supplier visits are coordinated, scheduled and supported as required
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM or Business Management field, or significant business experience in supply chain, finance, engineering, or a related area
- Experience in Operational Procurement, including sourcing, supplier due diligence, order book management, and continuous improvement
- Subcontract experience, focusing on negotiation, influencing, contracting, and understanding the legal environment
- Proficiency in Supplier Management, encompassing cost management, risk and opportunity management, supplier relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
Desirable:
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.)
