Job title: Senior Quality Inspector – Painting & Tilling Inspection
Location: Barrow-In-Furness

What you’ll be doing:
- Covering all inspection work within the build phase, working to set specification (Workmanship Standards and Process Instructions) set out by BAE and agreed with all key stakeholders
- Working in-line with the current inspection and test plan agreed by the business and working to a right first-time approach
- Carrying out routine work with limited supervision and complex tasks under direct supervision in their related area(s)
- Have a clear understanding of the Quality and HS&E Management system documentation e.g. Process instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments in line with their work scope
- Have a good understanding and interpretation of measurement equipment tolerances and highlighting any non-conformances for inspections undertaken
- Reporting results of inspections using the agreed processes set out by the business
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Previous experience within a marine/industrial environment in relation to corrosion / preservation and the associated products and application techniques
- Product Inspection background
- Ability to interpret specifications, procedures and contract requirements
- Time – Served Tradesperson
Desirable:
- Defence Based Experience
- ICORR Level Two Paint Inspection or Industry Equivalent, familiar with standards 1090 and ISO-13076
- Understanding of steel working construction / manufacturing and associate standards practices

The Quality Inspection team:
As Quality Inspector, you will report into HM with site leads requesting inspections. Working within a team of Quality Inspectors from across the department, you’ll be liaising with stakeholders to ensure work schedule and results are communicated to the appropriate areas, highlighting any non-conformances for inspections undertaken and reporting via SAP and the joint management database. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
