Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Location: Barrow – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. 

Salary: Circa £65,000

What you’ll be doing: 

• Collate Jig and Fixtures requirements and demands for Manufacturing Engineering and Build & Test
• Gather Module requirements and demands for Manufacturing Engineering and Build & Test
• Create Line Balancing using the Build Strategy to ensure the equipment is within TAKT time
• Model production lines within facilities to make the best use of the available space and to enable to build strategy
• Ensure that all Manufacturing Engineering activities comply with the Operational Framework and that compliance with all Manufacturing Engineering policies and mandates are maintained
• Lead and manage Manufacturing Engineering staff and executives; ensuring that each team member is assessed (for capability and skills), developed, deployed and trained

Your skills and experiences: 

Essential:

• Manufacturing/production background
• Stakeholder manager experience
• Experience with Build aids, Jigs/Fixtures or Construction tooling
• Interim product or Sub products within a high hazard industry
• Production line balancing experience

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Submarines
• Project management qualification

The Manufacturing Engineering Team:

The Manufacturing Engineering team is made up of Build Strategy, Dimensional Management, Processes and a newly formed team being Jigs, Modules and Facilities. The teams work closely with each other to ensure SSNA is creating the most optimised buildable design and, ensuring the Facilities are mapped out to correctly adhere to the Build Strategy.
