Job title:  Senior Governance Engineer

Location:  Warton, We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £47,683+ dependent on skills and experience

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee the management of Avionics Systems Governance databases, ensuring documentation is kept accurate, current, and aligned with local and national standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and process owners to identify and address any gaps or inconsistencies in documentation, enhancing clarity and strengthening governance
  • Facilitate regular governance reviews within the department and in partnership with central Governance and Quality teams, supporting shared understanding and continuous improvement
  • Support and guide the department through documentation audits and local process confirmation activities, ensuring a consistent and confident approach
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying practical, effective ways to streamline and enhance local documentation management

 

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experience in managing documentation systems, with a focus on accuracy, organisation, and compliance
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and effective documentation
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining productive relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Background in a process-driven engineering environment—such as automotive, civil aviation, or defence—with a solid understanding of structured workflows and quality standards

The Avionics Systems Capability and Governance Team:

The Avionics Systems Capability & Governance Team consists of a small group of hard working engineers with a fantastic work ethic, covering all aspects of Governance, Export Control, Security, Resourcing and Business Support. We work closely with the primary departmental engineering teams to ensure that all business is conducted in line with due process and Export Control/Security protocols. Our stakeholders include engineers from the Royal Air Force and our European Partner Nations which means that no two days are alike! As a team we constantly strive for Best Practice and new ways of working with a view to sharing our knowledge with other areas to continuously improve not just our own teams, but other engineering departments also.
