Job title: Senior Flight Systems Engineer

Salary: £47,683 – £ 52,426 dependant on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Producing and issuing Flight Systems engineering data to meet project requirements in line with agreed standards and procedures, whilst maintaining quality, cost and schedule adherence
- Liaising with other engineering and project areas in a collaborative environment to develop engineering solutions
- Performing engineering tasks dependent on lifecycle phase which could include requirements development, system and equipment design and development, modelling and analysis, system integration, qualification and certification, and testing
- Writing specifications, reports and proposals
- Providing guidance and coaching to other team members, sharing knowledge, expertise and best practice
- Steering new systems development through implementation of best practice systems lifecycle processes
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree / HND or equivalent experience or qualifications in relevant STEM subject (Aeronautical / Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Physics/Maths/Science)
- Demonstrable knowledge of the System Engineering lifecycle with ability to apply good systems engineering practices to your work
- Demonstrated experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Fluid Systems Engineering, preferably in an aerospace application or in a similar engineering or technology focussed industry (Nuclear, Rail Automotive or Academia)
Desirable:
- Electrical power generation and distribution, thermal management / environmental control systems, flying controls, hydraulics, landing gear, fuel, crew systems (life support / crew escape / aircrew protective equipment), propulsion integration or systems health management
- Model-based systems engineering principles, tools and techniques
- Vehicle control system design, and modelling and simulation of both classical and advanced control systems

Flight Systems and Aero Team
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen within the Senior Flight Sciences Team for a Flight Systems Engineer. In this role you will be involved in the design, development and support of a diverse range of systems and involved in all aspects of the engineering lifecycle, with the opportunity to work on numerous projects and platforms in both AIR and Maritime sectors.
Career progression and further training, particularly towards Chartership, are encouraged and supported in the team and wider business.
