Job title: Senior Engineering Manager – Software – INTeACT
Location: New Malden, Broad Oak – Portsmouth, Frimley. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Circa £ 80,000 (depending on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- Engineering Management of the new INTeACT software development
- Ensuring that all of the engineering processes, people and tools are in place and working efficiently throughout the product lifecycle as required to successfully deliver the new INTeACT software
- Support the establishment of suitable engineering processes, people and tools required to ensure efficient execution of the new INTeACT software engineering programme and to successfully achieve quality engineering outputs and deliverables
- Ensure delivery of the engineering effort to overall budget and schedule
- Leading and coordinating the estimation of new INTeACT software engineering activities and development and support costs
- Managing the development & execution of team resource plans including forward load forecasting & assignment of engineers
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Prior experience of managing the people and activities within a medium/large delivery focused software team
- An understanding of DevSecOps and Agile development methodology
- An understanding of the role of a software factory and ability to articulate the requirements for one that are relevant to supporting the successful execution of a large software project
- An understanding of what is required to deliver complex software programmes in a similar domain to the Defence Industry
- An understanding of Software Pipelines including Continuous Software Integration
Desirable:
- Delivered large software projects to a similar size and scale
- Managed a large team of software developers
- Combat Systems Experience
Degree qualified or equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline.Some disciplines may require a Masters level education. Chartered Engineer, or other relevant, equivalent professional registration. Member of appropriate professional institution, ideally working towards Fellow

The BAE Systems Naval Ships Combat Systems Product Realisation team use cutting edge technologies to design, develop, integrate and support naval combat system products that enable navies to protect nations.
