Job title: Senior Engineering Manager – Deputy PAG

What you’ll be doing:
- Playing an active role across all build areas but is responsible for the governance within a specified area
- Providing Executive Authority to the Procedural Authorisation Group and ensure that it conducts its business in accordance with its Terms of Reference and remains within its boundary of authority (i.e. NRP/Site Safety Case)
- Being a key person in the department, beyond their peer group for their technical knowledge, experience and competence
- Ensuring the full scope of nuclear, product, environmental and personnel safety is adequately considered within AG business
- Growing into a business SME on the build of the Naval Reactor Plant (NRP) and associated systems
- Be a deputy or relief PAG chair with delegated authority from the PAG chair
Your skills and experiences:
- Graduate (BEng) qualification in engineering based subject or relevant experience and qualifications
- Experience in maintenance, build and repair in a high hazard environment
- ILM Level 2/3 or CMI Level 3/5
- Typically, Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartership & member of the relevant institute

The Procedural Authorisation Group team:
Within this team they deal with the management of a technical governance area to gain assurance, through their chairing of a site convened Authorisation Group (AG), ensuring that work is assessed against technical and safety principles and those tasks are controlled by authorised documentation and carried out in accordance with the ALARP principle. We provide Executive Authority to the AG; primarily the Procedural Authorisation Group (PAG) and ensure that the AG conducts its business in accordance with its Terms of Reference and remains within its boundary of authority. If any proposed activity is likely to challenge this boundary, the AG Chair/ Deputy shall seek advice from the Site Authorisee/Licensee and NRPA as appropriate. This team is responsible for championing a robust safety culture and promote good working practices in all submarine build activity. We offer relocation support across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
