Job Title: Senior Specialist Structures Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Full time onsite)

What you’ll be doing:
· Working in a demanding environment dealing with manufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling and installation processes used within the business
· Supporting the production of concept drawings, layouts and other technical outputs consistent with the contractual requirements to meet target dates and budget demands
· Utilising knowledge of specific regulations and requirements, i.e., LOLER, codes of compliance, Euro codes, weld specifications, geometric tolerance
· Finite element analysis, and hand calculation with responsibility for checking analysis and outputs
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
· Degree in Engineering (BEng or MEng)
· Good understanding of mechanical engineering, structural steelwork, knowledge of lifting handling and LOLER
· Working knowledge of ABAQUS (Software) Foran, MathCAD, and excel
Desirable:
· Previous experience in a marine/production environment
· Previous experience within a civil industry
· Expertise structural steel design

The Specialist Structures team:
A great opportunity to learn more about submarines and develop an engineering career in this exciting field. The Specialist Structures Team consists of a team of designers and a team of engineers. You will be working with internal and external stakeholders as well as working within engineering function, build and operations. Within this role you will an opportunity to see the Submarine and develop niche skills, opening the pathway to progress within the company.
