Job title: Senior Engineer – Site Engineering Authority

Salary: From £38,734+ depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
· Creating through life asset management plans defining fit for purpose maintenance strategies and prioritised investment demands to enable the site assets to deliver its strategic objectives
· Providing independent Engineering Authority across all Site & Facilities Assets for any breaches or potential breaches of Regulatory or internal SHE arrangements
· Providing technical engineering advice & support to the maintenance, operations & project teams
· Producing / approving engineering functional requirements, accepting design solution, maintaining engineering oversight, validating engineering integrity, protecting & maintaining engineering baseline for all projects on Site & Facilities assets
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
· Minimum HNC level education in a STEM related subject or equivalent engineering, maintenance, or operational experience
· Professional engineering background with good understanding of key legal obligations for managing facilities & assets
· Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships
· Experience in managing scopes of work to challenging schedules
Desirable:
· An understanding of Asset Management principles

The Site Engineering Authority team:
This is an exciting time to take up a new engineering challenge in a thriving Defence industry. At BAE Systems Barrow-In-Furness, due to growth we are expanding and developing our site facilities to accommodate a new fleet of MoD Submarines. Joining a newly-formed team of site engineers, you will help to ensure that Barrow’s Infrastructure services and assets (such as utilities, telecoms, transport and security etc) are safe, legal and compliant. You’ll achieve this by providing oversight, governance and independent site engineering assurance to all future Engineering activities and systematically reviewing existing arrangements.
