Job Title: Systems Engineer

Salary: £38,734 + dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing: 

• Develop the computer network to host a number of Submarine Combat System applications
• Support with the early stages of the design lifecycle whilst helping to develop the system architecture using model based systems engineering
• Work collaboratively in a team to elicit and manage customer requirements
• Ensuring the proposed design is captured within the requirements management tools and modelling environment at an appropriate level of authority
• Understand and manage the maturity of our engineering solutions as they develop and take corrective action as necessary
• You will be responsible for defining functional and logical architecture
• Be responsible for identifying and defining interfaces across system boundaries

Your skills and experiences: 

Essential:

• Degree educated in a STEM discipline or HND/HNC with sound experience of the Engineering Lifecycle
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering process and practices in the defence, maritime or closely linked industry
• Knowledge of computer systems architecture
• Knowledge of developing systems engineering model

Desirable:

• Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
• Working towards professional registration
• Experience of verification and validation of requirement

The Combat Systems Team: 

This position will provide a fantastic opportunity to work on multibillion pound long term complex programme. You will be working with stakeholders across various organisations and leading teams comprised of individuals from multiple organisations. It is a great chance to lead, shape and influence work on a multi-billion pound programme. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria
