Job Description
Job title: Senior Buyer (Investment & Infrastructure – Construction)
Location: Preston

Salary: Up to c£50K DOE
What you’ll be doing:
· Providing day-to-day support in the procurement of construction services, either through the management of day-to-day routine procurement activities, or by supporting strategic procurement initiatives or projects
· Taking a lead role in the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to contract negotiation / execution and ongoing Supplier Performance and Relationship Management
· Providing challenge into the conventional way of thinking and procuring, in order to develop innovative contracting solutions
· Managing and influencing internal stakeholders across the business
· Negotiating on existing and new contracts to ensure best cost / service to the business
· Supporting the business in delivery of key investment projects as well as leading projects solely
· Managing suppliers to ensure there is a professional and effective business relationship
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
· Demonstrable track record of Indirect Procurement experience
Strong commercial acumen
Awareness of JCT / NEC contracting
· Contract management experience
· Multi-site procurement and stakeholder management experience
·
Desirable:
· Category management experience

The Procurement team:
This is a team at the forefront of supporting the business’ investments into its existing infrastructure as well as new building developments and product platforms meaning no two days are the same.
In a role where no two days are the same, there is also potential for expansion, growth, and development within this role / team.
You will work as part of the Investment & Infrastructure Procurement team, managing strategic vendors and procuring services and manufacturing equipment. Using the procurement lifecycle as a tool, you will manage vendors in line with the category strategy and support its implementation across the wider business.
