About the OPPORTUNITY

Based at Osborne Naval Shipyard, Adelaide. As the Quality Control Hull Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work performed, including the associated work packages and the associated job Cards, is completed and is compliant with the workmanship standard and specifications during the prototyping and Batch 1 ship construction phases, via completion of the ITP events.

You will be responsible for:

  • Confirming that all preventative and scheduled maintenance activities are completed.
  • Ensuring Quality Standards are maintained to the satisfaction of internal and external Customers.
  • Undertake review and reporting on the efficiency and effectiveness of quality practices across the business.
  • Contribute to the quality policy, strategy, objectives and processes in your day to day work.
  • Coordinate stakeholders to ensure quality has an effective input to total performance.
  • Support Quality Planning activities in the business area, including assurance activities.
  • Assist in providing assurance that robust and effective Quality Control processes / authorities are in place in the business area.
  • Ensure Quality Control processes meet the required standards.

About YOU

  • Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Essential).
  • Relevant trade qualification and experience in relevant trade environment.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (with either IWI-B, or CSWIP 3.1, or AWS) is highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications – preferred.
  • Sound understanding of Quality practices and continuous improvement – desirable.
  • Familiarity of ISO 9001, Defence and Civil Technical Regulatory – desirable.
