About the OPPORTUNITY
Based at Osborne Naval Shipyard, Adelaide. As the Quality Control Blast and Paint Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring Quality Standards are maintained to the satisfaction of internal and external Customers. In addition to this, you will undertake review and reporting on the efficiency and effectiveness of quality practices across the business and provide guidance, advice and support on all quality related matters.
You will be responsible for:
- Inspection and approval of product.
- Gather objective quality evidence of build in accordance with design.
- Coaching Operations
- Confirmation that maintenance activities are completed.
- Provision of informal training to Supervisors and Team leads on the requirements of the
- workmanship standards.
- Understand quality practices and the code of conduct.
- Facilitate Continuous Improvement of Business Unit work practices using best practice Quality Tools to reduce process variation and remove non value added activities.
About YOU
- Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Essential).
- Experience in blast and paint inspection – preferred.
- Sound knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications – preferred.
- Certified Coating Inspector, holding either NACE CIP Level 2, or FROSIO 3, or equivalent.
- Sound understanding of Quality practices and continuous improvement – desirable.
- Familiarity of ISO 9001, Defence and Civil Technical Regulatory – desirable.
