What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and responsible for a team of Designers who will have different levels of experience and knowledge across the Submarine business
- Responsible for the 3D integration of routed systems and equipment’s as well as outputs e.g. 2D diagrams, installation drawings, parts lists and BoM maturity etc
- Supporting the Dreadnought programme in delivering to schedule, cost, safety and quality
- Development of members of your team in your people management hierarchy e.g. PDR’s, PDP’s Quality / Code of Conduct discussions and training needs etc
- Work with all stakeholder groups to solve problems and drive solutions between design requirements, spatial constraints, build and operability. Liaising with the senior management team and our clients
- Responsible for task management, progress reporting and schedule adherence of the team
Your skills and experiences:
- Engineering or Designer / Draughtsperson background
- Understanding of Pipe and/or HVAC routed systems as well as integration of Compartments within your area
- Understanding of Engineering Standards and Processes
Desirable:
- Experience working through various lifecycle stages of design and build e.g. Detail Design and Outputs to build
- Understanding of CAD modelling techniques and PLM toolsets e.g. Foran and Teamcenter
- HNC qualification or recognised apprenticeship

The Design Management Team:
As a Project Leader you will report to and support your Engineering Manager in delivering Designer tasks / outputs in line with programme demands such as 2D and 3D routes in the integrated CAD model. This role will also offer a clear career path for progression whilst also having the ability to support with further education for those seeking these opportunities. We offer relocation support across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
