Location: Cowes – hybrid pattern of 3-4 days weekly onsite

Salary: Circa £50,000 dependent on skills & experience

Role description:

You will apply engineering principles and technical expertise to develop products and services, resolve complex technical challenges, produce clear technical reports and presentations, ensure solutions meet stakeholder requirements, build effective working relationships, and contribute independently or collaboratively within a diverse and inclusive team environment.

Core duties:

• Apply engineering expertise to develop solutions and resolve complex technical challenges
• Lead qualification and assurance activities, supporting robust safety case evidence
• Identify lifecycle issues, implementing effective change and continuous improvement activities
• Conduct technical reviews, verification activities, and validation of engineering outputs
• Develop compliant designs and provide evidence supporting safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, communicating progress, risks, and recovery plans

Essential skills:

• Extensive engineering expertise with broad technical knowledge across complex, multidisciplinary environments
• Degree-qualified or equivalent experience within a relevant engineering discipline, Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards professional accreditation
• Strong specialist knowledge gained through a combination of education, training, and practical application
• Proven ability to apply sound engineering judgement and technical expertise to solve complex challenges
• Analytical mindset with a commitment to continuous professional development and ongoing learning
• Effective communicator and collaborator, working confidently with diverse stakeholders

Our workplace in Cowes is an easily accessible commute from Southampton with a regular foot passenger ferry and BAE shuttle service from the ferry terminal to site.
