About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner to join our Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program based at SA-Osborne Naval Shipyard, reporting to the Production Planning Lead.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
As a Production Planner on the Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program, you will play a key role in coordinating and managing the planning activities required to support the upgrade and maintenance of ships. You will be responsible for maintaining the planned configuration baseline derived from the manufacturing bill of materials, creating work orders and job cards, and managing production scheduling and planning activities. Using Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems, you will monitor production progress, generate reports, and ensure work is delivered in line with program requirements. A key focus of the role will be planning the electrical scope of upgrades, including developing cable and termination plans, layouts, and testing schedules to support efficient and effective execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creation of a detailed Production Schedule Work Order and Job Card activities
- Assigning materials to complete work scope of Job Cards
- Development and assignment of production budgets based on allocation of business norms and assistance in aligning production and project budgets
- Progress monitoring, analysing and reporting on the production schedule to both internal and external customers
- Representing planning, as required, with Integrated Work Team
About YOU
- Working experience in a Scheduling / Production Planning type role, preferably in the heavy engineering or manufacturing industries. (desirable)
- Trade background or similar in electrical (desirable)
- Experience using MRP toolsets and awareness of the processes involved (desirable).
- Working experience in the ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different stakeholders
- NV1 Security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations.
