Salary: Up to £33,500 dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
• Communicate with internal / external stakeholders supporting the contract manager to resolve a wide variety of problems and quality issues, escalating when necessary
• Coordinate procurement metrics and related actions within the team, Project Management function and wider project team to support Cost Account Management (CAM) activities
• Support the contract manager in reviewing the performance of suppliers against quality, cost and delivery metrics to ensure requirements are met and to secure improvements
• Support continuous improvement / process improvement opportunities and Learning from Experience activity
• Prepare and support procurement activities including, but not limited to, raising Request for Quotations, creating and managing purchase orders, expediting delivery, supporting supplier negotiations for price and lead time and organizing supplier visits
• Ensure all business systems, document management systems and data sources are kept up-to date to provide a single point of truth for stakeholders whilst ensuring all tasks are performed with a right first time ethic in order to meet business-wide Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People principles
• Update business systems, document management systems and data sources to provide a single point of truth for stakeholders
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
• An understanding of Procurement principles, techniques and practices
• Understanding of on time delivery, cost and quality through the successful actions of the Supply Chain
• Experience in use of an ERP system or similar as well as Microsoft Suite
Desirable:
• Understanding of Key Performance Indicator’s
• Able to identify and prioritise Risks & Opportunities
• Knowledge of Regulatory frameworks on Supply Chain practice (Import/Export, ITAR, Defence Procurement Regulations)

The River Class Destroyer (RCD) Supply Chain Team:
This role will form part of the Supply Chain organisation supporting the River Class Destroyer (RCD) Program supporting Irvine Shipbuilding Inc with the build of 15 Frigates for the Canadian Navy.
The role is to support the key activities in the delivery of the Definition, Implementation and Pipe Spools Manufacturing contracts for RCD and to support the Contract Managers in the placement and/or delivery of procurement contracts for a variety of ship equipment, complex systems commodities and materials.
