Job Description
Job Title: Principal Operations Engineer – Regulatory Compliance (Mechanical)
Location: Barrow-in-Furness – we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements
Salary: £40,000+ (depending on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
· Providing baseline assessments of existing equipment and facilities against regulatory compliance
· Ensuring that all new or modified assets are compliant with relevant regulations and standards
· Planning and executing on-site inspections/audits
· Producing Reports, Technical Specifications and Requirements documents
· Providing advice to other disciplines, maintainers and site committees on technical issues and requirements to meet regulatory legislation
· Reviewing design proposals for both new assets and for major modifications in terms of compliance
Essential
· Knowledge of engineering regulations specific to engineering discipline (e.g. PSSR, LOLER, LEV, HVAC)
· Demonstrable experience of applying engineering regulations within a ‘continuous improvement’ environment
· Technical document writing
· Mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable
· Inspection/auditing skills and experience
· Qualification in an inspection capacity
· Degree/HNC in a mechanical engineering subject with suitable experience

The Operations – Regulatory Compliance (Mechanical) team:
As a part of the Regulatory Compliance team, you will work closely with Engineering colleagues to provide technical support to Engineering Authorities, Asset Management, Projects and maintenance teams. You will also liaise with stakeholders including Operations and SHE departments. You will be involved in variety of engineering projects and have the opportunity to influence how the deliverables are achieved from the start of the process.
