Job Title: Principal Operations Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness – on-site
Salary: From £40,748
What you’ll be doing:
- Monitoring performance and conducting inspections of construction site activities
- Managing, monitoring, and controlling construction and engineering project activities and schedules
- Maintaining project documentation, identifying, and expediting actions to respond to issues and deviations from contract
- Day-to-day management of Principal and Sub-Contractors throughout construction phases of project
- Attending team and site meetings as required by the Engineering Manager such as Plan of the Day, Pre-start meetings, Control of Works, Progress meetings, Post completion etc
- Coordinating & arranging site access for all suppliers and contractors
- Appraising method statements and risk assessments, incorporating input from key stakeholders
- Issuing of permits to work & responsible for arranging Confined space requests
- Taking an active role in monitoring and auditing the Health and Safety of all Programmed works
Your skills and experiences:
- Expertise in applying CDM (Construction, Design & Management) principles
- Qualification in Construction, Engineering OR Similar Environment
- Track record of delivering results in large, complex construction projects
- Experience in managing scopes of work to challenging schedules
- Stakeholder Management Experience
- CDM Experience/Contractor Control

As a part of the Operations team, you will be working with Engineering Managers, Commission Project Leader, Projects team, Contractor Assurance team as well as Health and Safety, Suppliers, Security and contractors. You will be involved in early stages of the project.
