Job Title: Principal Manufacturing Engineer – Capability for Build Line

Salary: From £45,628 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintaining a consistent ‘discipline’ approach across the projects on behalf of the Head of Discipline (Manufacturing Engineering Manager), for Build Line Support
- Ensuring that the assembly sequence and content is followed; ensuring critical inspections stages and hold points are maintained, and thereby reducing rework
- Undertaking detailed Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) activities in advance of production start to de-risk downstream manufacturing processes and systems
- Ensuring compliance with the Engineering policies, ensuring safety, conformance, competency and capability within the Skill Stream
- Providing guidance and support across the Skill Stream through various means
- Collaborating with Quality Control/Engineering to carry out verification and validation activities using ‘Six-sigma’ tools to establish a stable and capable process
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- HNC or an equivalent technical qualification, or relevant experience
- Project Management experience
- Ability to analyse complex problems and identify the most critical issues
- Understanding of relevant tools (software based or otherwise) such as PLM, SAP, Teamcenter, AutoCAD or SolidWorks
Desirable:
- CEng/IEng accredited or willing to work towards this accreditation
- Experience leading a team

This unique team operates differently from the major programmes in that it’s the only role covering all of the programmes. This varied and exciting role offers great exposure across the business and in groups in different sectors. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
