Job title: Principle Electromagnetics Engineer

Salary: £46,000 – £50,000 (Commensurate with skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- All aspects of the Microwave Materials business. In addition, the incumbent will play a key role in supporting the development of new technologies and opportunities, to help grow the business in line with ambitious growth plans
- Form part of a team that maintains and builds upon the Electromagnetic test & measurement capability within the Microwave Materials business, in line with strategic requirements
- Work with other ATS specialists to provide expertise and support to key programmes
- Build direct customer and stakeholder relationships to assist in ensuring effective project delivery and identifying new business opportunities in line with the ATS business strategy
- Have specific responsibility for development projects that require the design and manufacture of LO solutions and conformal antennas
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific / engineering discipline with proven experience
- Possess an in-depth understanding of Microwave Electronics or electromagnetic theory and principles
- Electromagnetic simulation experience is desirable including antenna design
- Familiar with recognised industry standards and techniques for Microwave measurement including wave guide and free space
Desirable:
- Familiarity with radar cross section theory and/or measurements would be desirable
- Knowledge or experience of Python and/or C# programming
- Knowledge or experience of Product development and the product development lifecycle
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation if these are not held already. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered

The Electromagnetics Team:
The EM team are a central function of Microwave Materials business. Involved from concept (modelling), materials characterisation, generating designs and undertaking release testing for product through to driving continuous improvement and development across the full product lifecycle
Within this role, you will engage with the R&D and Product Development teams in a growing business. You will have the opportunity to expand your skillsets in modelling and design, as well as a chance to be creative in improving the business processes
