Job Title: Occupational Health Advisor

Salary: Up to £51,512 FTE depending on experience – 32 hours per week

Location: Portsmouth -on site

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing a management referral response service with clear and concise answers to management questions and providing statistical data to OH Manager as required.
  • Providing support and level of decision –making for Screening Nurses as needed and referring to OH Manager/physician when required with complex cases
  • Provide Travel Health clinics as required.
  • Carry out health surveillance/fitness for work tasks health assessment and deliver Health and Wellbeing advice to individual employees during consultations
  • To provide an Interventions service involving First Aid treatments, communication of appropriate information back to the business; referral and ongoing support to employees
  • Assist in the delivery of the Wellbeing/Health Promotion activities including creation of up to date information displays/materials/goods.
  • Governance responsibility: The role holder will be suitably qualified and experienced to be responsible for own professional conduct (MNC Code of Conduct) and able to act as decision maker for issues identified by screening nurses as appropriate.

 

Your skills and experiences:

  • Be RN level 1
  • Specialist Practitioner (Part 3 of the NMC Register)- specialist OH qualification
  • Hold a safety/management qualification
  • Extensive experience in the field of OH in a variety of settings
  • Experience with Travel Health & Case Management

You’ll be joining our Maritime & Land Defence Solutions team, working at the heart of our warship support operations. This team plays a vital role in keeping our people safe, compliant, and fully equipped to deliver on critical defence projects.

Here, you’ll help ensure our workforce meets all regulatory and organisational standards, supporting a strong safety culture and contributing to the smooth, effective running of our operations. You’ll be part of a collaborative group that works closely with engineering, production, and support functions to maintain a healthy, capable, and confident workforce across all areas of the business.
