About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Trades Officer to join our Red Ochre Autonomy and Sensors team based in Edinborough Parks, SA.

You’ll be responsible for delivering precise machining and fabrication work using hand tools and workshop equipment, supporting engineering operations with high-quality results. Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include

• Plan, manage, and perform machining, fabrication, and testing tasks
• Assist engineers with assembly, disassembly, and field trial support
• Construct and modify parts, tools, and jigs to meet project needs
• Work confidently with a wide range of materials including metals, plastics, timber
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, compliant workshop environment
• Source materials and provide clear progress updates to stakeholders

About YOU

• Trade-qualified Fitter and Turner, or equivalent certification in machining and fabrication
• Tertiary qualifications in machining, fabrication, or a related engineering discipline
• Must hold or be eligible for a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance
• Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
