Job Title: Mechanical Systems Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness. Requirement to be onsite 3 days a week

What you’ll be doing:
- Support design maturity and associated design embodiment
- Conduct design review of new document revisions and provide review form comments as required
- Conduct design change analyse which could impact design to system equipment and ensure impacts are understood
- As a supplier facing engineer, liaise with supplier counterpart to address engineering tasking’s within the defined project timescale
- System representative for Factory Acceptance Testing, Witness Events and Integration Activities
- Support timely closures of actions as required by the Engineering manager for the provision of schedule of deliverables
Your skills and experiences:
- A Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Scientific/Engineering subject (e.g. Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics or Mathematics)
- The ability to build and maintain effective networks across the community including customer and/or supplier liaison experience for technical aspects, verifying and obtaining agreement that customer needs are satisfied
- Ability developing systems in relevant product markets and/or domains, on mechanical systems and instrumentation
- Understanding of information assurance, cyber security and environmental impact aspects relating to real time embedded engineering products would be beneficial
- Experience working through challenging integration problems involving stakeholders with differing and sometimes conflicting wants
- Experience managing multiple tasking’s and priorities

The Platform Combat Systems Team:
The Platform Combat Systems Team, work across various mechanical systems such as Weapon Handling and Launch, managing web and handling systems through design and integration. The ideal candidate will be a junior engineer who will be provided further on and off the job training, also with a succession plan to support progression.
