Job Title: Mechanical Fitter – Plant Maintenance
Location: Barrow – On-Site
Salary: £37,318.00
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensuring Health and Safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines are complied with.
- Following the relevant instructions, drawings and any other Quality Standards/specifications.
- Using the appropriate methods and techniques to repair, modify and maintain mechanical systems and ancillary equipment.
- Checking completed activities to ensure that all operations have been completed to meet the required Quality Standards/specification.
- Completing Planned Maintenance Schedules (PMS) and reactive maintenance across sites on the upkeep on assets and equipment
Your skills and experiences:
- Time Served Mechanical Fitter and/or Approved Apprenticeship (In relevant trade)
- NVQ Level 3 Equivalent Qualification (In relevant subject)
- Reading / understanding technical drawings and the ability to interpret engineering data and documentation
- Experience in Maintaining CNC Machines, hydraulic systems, extraction systems and general plant equipment

The Plant Maintenance Team:
As a member of Plant Maintenance, you will be playing a vital role in the maintenance and efficiency of a wide variety of machinery and plant equipment used across the Barrow site. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a broad range of day-to-day activities and working in a variety of locations across the site that will gain you exposure to key internal and external Stakeholders across the business. This role will also have development opportunities to help grow and build a career with BAE Systems.
We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
