Math and Physics Instructor
The Math and Physics Instructor is
responsible for delivery of Math and Physics modules within Qatar Technical Institute
in Doha, Qatar.
The Math and
Physics Instructor will develop and deliver a range of Math and Physics modules
within the QTI’s Foundation and Vocational program. Flexibility is required as
there may be variation to this depending on the institute’s needs.
In accordance
with the assessment strategy, the Math and Physics Instructor will develop and
follow robust tracking and assessment methods to ensure standards are
maintained, thus ensuring progress within the QTI.
The Math and
Physics Instructor will actively contribute to the continuing improvement of
the QTI, through identification of new ideas and embracing the suggestions of
others.
Key aspects of the Math and Physics
Instructor role are:
- Develop
interesting lessons conforming to the program of study and suitable for various
categories of students. This includes creating syllabi, educational material,
lessons plans, hands-on activities and assessments tailored to students’ needs,
strengths, and weaknesses. - Convey
a clear dedication to contributing positively to the growth of the department
by permanently seeking and engaging in numerous learning experiences. These
involve carrying out an analysis of areas of needs for development, attending
to training programme and courses that are relevant, supporting creativity and
innovation in teaching strategies and tasks, as well as encouraging members of
staff to learn from one another. - Work
collaboratively with all Math and Physics instructors, and instructors of other
subjects, to provide students with the best chance of success in the Foundation
programme. - Regularly
report student progress, attendance, and behaviour to Foundation management. - Engage
with the QTI’s performance management policy effectively to ensure objectives
are met.
1. Operate
within all mandated SHE guidelines.
- Demonstrate
excellent SHE behaviour and report any SHE issues to the Technical Operations
team. - Undertake
all mandatory trainings to support QTI duties.
2. Undertake
all core job duties.
- Teach
Math and Physics to military students in preparation for Engineering
programmes. - Apply
and ensure consistent rules of classroom behaviour. - Carry
out administrative tasks within the QTI, ensuring all student data is captured. - Provide
cover teaching in the event of absences. - Provide
support to all students throughout the learning journey of the QTI.
3. Plan and
teach effectively.
- Deliver
lessons using a variety of differentiated instructional techniques that are
appropriate for the context and meet the needs of students. - Design
and develop supplementary course materials to set standards. - Provide
ongoing oral and written feedback to students. - Prepare
lesson plans, including full plans for observed lessons.
4. Maintain
optimal operational performance in all areas of job duties.
- Support
course development, implementation, and review. - Operate
using proper lines of communication. - Engage
with new technology.
5. Record,
share and analyse all necessary data within required timeframes.
- Assess
students and provide both formative and summative evaluations. - Ensure
all data is recorded accurately and on time.
6. Maintain a
positive relationship with the military.
- Interact
positively with military personnel. - Respect the rules of the military environment.
Requirements
Required:
Degree in Math, Physics, or a closely related field.
– At
least 2 years’ proven experience in teaching Math and Physics at the high
school or college level.
– Experience
in developing and implementing curriculum and lesson plans.
– Familiarity
with various teaching methodologies and best practices.
– Excellent
IT skills.
– Excellent
skills in communication, flexibility, and adaptability.
Preferred:
Certificate/Diploma preferred.
– Experience
of teaching in the Middle East.
– Experience
of teaching City and Guilds qualifications or in a vocational environment.
