Job title: ME2 Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: Up to £39,458 depending on qualifications and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Significantly influence, collaborate and coordinate ME activities creating the future legacy for Ship-Building on the Clyde and in our customer facilities
- Define & Approve Facilities, Equipment, Tooling and Processes, where appropriate, confirm and approve team member work
- Understand and Influence Product Design to define optimised products to meet operational capabilities
- Create and improve production methods. Engineering outputs, NC programs and general continuous improvement activities
- Create and support benefit cases for funded improvement and manages the facility investment project from concept to commissioning
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Previous experience in either Process / Method Planning, NC Programming, Tool Definition, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing System Implementations or Facility Investment activities
- Experience of understanding and interpreting requirements, specifications and engineering outputs
- Knowledge of the analysis of problems into root causes rather than symptoms using recognised techniques
- Project and task management skills in coordinating and delivering successful activities
- Design for Manufacture
Desirable:
- HNC / HND / Degree in Engineering or related field coupled with applying this in an ME Environment
- Understanding Lean Principles and appropriate selection

The Manufacturing Engineering Team:
Employing close to 30,000 highly skilled colleagues across its Submarines, Naval Ships, Maritime Services, Munitions and Australia businesses, the Maritime and Ships Sector is growing; and in order to best position itself to meet future challenges, its Manufacturing Engineering Function is now looking for a new member to join the team.
As part of this role you will get the chance to influence the design and manufacture of naval ships on the Clyde and be part of a broader team that will develop and provide opportunities within the wider ME team and within the supporting functions.
