Job Description:
We are seeking a candidate with experience working in a customer-focused environment to join a modern and evolving digital business. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of IT systems across the full project lifecycle, from initial design through to delivery and ongoing improvement.
You will be part of a forward-thinking team, working on innovative solutions while building your expertise, with clear opportunities for progression into more senior roles over time.
Core duties:
- Define and communicate the organisation’s information management strategy, ensuring consistent and widely adopted data standards across the business
- Design and model business processes and data requirements, translating them into effective data structures and architectures
- Assess and manage the impact of relevant regulatory, statutory, and internal policies on the organisation’s use of information
- Provide expert guidance across key areas, including the role of IT in supporting business objectives, to enhance overall process effectiveness
- Maintain deep technical expertise within specialist areas, offering informed advice on best practice and application
- Support the acquisition and integration of new entities, ensuring alignment with existing systems and data frameworks
- Act as a subject matter expert across a broad range of IT disciplines, including architecture, methodologies, technologies, and applications
Essential Skills:
- Relevant degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience working within an IT function or architecture practice, or a related field, with exposure to recognised frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)
- Understanding of current IT and digital trends, with awareness of industry best practices
- Demonstrable experience across the full lifecycle of IT project delivery
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment, with the ability to engage with stakeholders and understand requirements
The Architecture Practise team:
As a Lead Solution Architect, you will be working as part of the Architecture Practice within the Air Sector in a senior role to deliver IT systems that contribute to the growth of our newly established Falconworks® business within BAE Systems. Established in early 2023, Falconworks® is the home of future capability development in the Air sector working on cutting-edge platforms, products and technologies whilst engaging across the Air and wider BAE Systems Enterprise
