KFAA UAV SUPERVISOR
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. As part of this arrangement, BAE Systems provides flying training for Royal Saudi Air Force Pilots. Applicants for this role requires the following:
Perform RSAF duties of the role to which they are assigned in accordance with associated RSAF Manuals. · Monitor the safety of SBDCP synthetic operations within his department and ensure compliance with the Corporate Operations Flying Policy, KSA Operations Flying Policy, Fatigue Management Policy and RSAF Policies and Rules.
- Identify any aviation safety risks in all operations and suggest mitigating actions. Have a working knowledge of SafeTal incident reporting and be familiar with the flying operations Hazard (Risk) Log in both the Hazard and FORM modules
- Provide air operations and aviation safety advice to the KFAA UAV Senior Supervisor.
- Provide air operations subject matter expertise to the KFAA UAV Supervisor when requested.
- Provide air operations input to the KFAA UAV Senior Supervisor for SHE activities, ongoing SBDCP projects and manning levels.
- Assign duties and delegate tasks to staff within their department as needed.
- Assist in the creation and management of the working routines and scheduling for staff and, if applicable, cadets within their department.
- Continuously evaluate the quality and efficiency of the training service delivery within their department and make recommendations for improvement to the KFAA UAV Senior Supervisor.
- Coordinate with the KFAA UAV Senior Supervisor to resolve issues affecting their department.
- When necessary, counsel departmental personnel to raise and meet company and customer performance standards.
- Implement the KFAA UAV Senior Supervisor’s policies and processes for BAESSA employees within his department.
- Execute instructions and complete tasks as given by the KFAA UAV Senior Supervisor.
- Assist the KFAA UAV Senior Supervisor’s decision-making processes to arrive at workable solutions to challenges within the Wing.
- Evaluate performance of all subordinate staff and use feedback from Supervisors for relevant personnel.
- Generate and maintain reports as required by company requirements and the HoF (KFAA).
- Monitor performance of all staff within their area of responsibility.
- Mentor new staff within their department and assist in the transition to greater levels of responsibility.
- Monitor SHE standards and activities within their department.
- Strengthen cultural awareness of all staff within their department and provide advice and direction when required.
- Publicise BAESSA staff accomplishments to the customer to provide positive feedback as much as possible.
- Assist in the compilation of statistical analyses when required by the KFAA UAV Senior Supervisor.
- Maintain a productive and amicable working relationship with the customer.
- Monitor and assist in the enhancement of a culture of Aviation Safety within his department.
- Monitor fatigue levels within their department.
- Advise the KFAA UAV Senior Supervisor of factors adversely affecting safe operations.

The position requires familiarity with the BAESSA HR and Support Services policies including general understanding of processes for dealing with Discipline and Competency based issues. The individual should also be aware of current policy and processes affecting and applicable to responsible behaviour in the workplace. Specific requirements are:
- Proficient verbal and written English communication and networking skills.
- High level of political and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to be both an effective leader and team player in an international multifunctional environment.
- Apply knowledge of military aviation subjects in a way, which ensures credibility with the RSAF.
- Ability to exploit Company and RSAF processes to achieve BAESSA and individual objectives.
- Ability to add maximum value at minimum cost.
- Ability to work on his own initiative to deliver solutions which enhance business
The job holder is required to be a fully qualified UAV simulator instructor. Specific
requirements are:
- UAV Simulator Instructor with a minimum of 2 years experience instructing on a basic UAV training course
- Maximum age on appointment will be 56.
- Experience of working in international and multi functional teams.
- Preferably have an understanding of the Operational Framework, in particular the Company’s LCM, safety and HR processes.
- Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Preferably ex- Air Force flying command experience
