Job title: Higher Apprentice Manufacturing Engineering Technician Location: Samlesbury Warton Salary: We offer a competitive salary with annual increases throughout the apprenticeship and a range of employee benefits including, free higher education as well as access to the Company pension and share saving scheme What you’ll be doing: In the first year, you will undertake your training at the Academy for Skills and Knowledge at Samlesbury Lancashire. You will be trained in both practical and theory-based engineering and in addition, learning the basics in such things as electrical circuits, aircraft fitting, fabrication, flight line awareness, machining, carbon fibre and Computer Aided Design. Following the first year, you will continue with academic studies and learning and contributing to the business, by completing numerous placements in either Facilities Management, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Infrastructure and Estates. You will be trained to demonstrate: During the scheme, there will be a number of opportunities to ‘stretch’ yourself such as getting involved in recruitment events, STEM activities and charity projects. Please note you must not book any annual leave within the first 3 months of your apprenticeship. Following this, leave will be considered depending on the individual training delivery schedule and must be approved by your line manager. What qualification will you get? Your qualification will be taught with our in house college at the Academy of Skills & Knowledge. You will also be encouraged to become accredited to a professional institution such as the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Institute of Workplace & Facilities Management (IWFM) or Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). On completion you will be assessed against the competency requirements for a Manufacturing Technician (ManTech). Qualification requirements |
5 GCSE A*-C or 9-4 (or equivalent) Including Maths, English & Science or Technical Subject. A levels at grade C or above (Or equivalent). One subject must be Maths related and one subject must be in Engineering, Science or a Technical subject. A STEM based L3 Extended BTEC Diploma (which meets the required UCAS points). |
