Job Title: Higher Apprentice Test Engineering (Electrical / Electronic) Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight Salary: We offer a competitive salary with annual increases throughout the apprenticeship and a range of employee benefits including, free higher education as well as access to the Company pension and share saving scheme What you will be doing: During the Engineering Higher Apprenticeship you will develop knowledge, skills and behaviours across a range of different engineering disciplines. During this time you will gain valuable experience in electrical, mechanical and electronic manufacturing engineering environments, which will culminate in you completing an End Point Assessment with a view of becoming a Test Engineer. The Engineering Higher Apprenticeship is a 3-year programme where you will spend time in a variety of areas within the manufacturing business. You will undertake a range of engineering activities and gain valuable experience across the project lifecycle. During the first 2 years you will undertake a HNC in Engineering on a day release basis. Specific activities could include: Test Engineers utilise engineering drawings, data and documentation in order to undertake the measuring, diagnosing & verification of technical performance on a wide range of electrical and electronic assemblies and components found within our complex Maritime and Land based Radar products. This covers Radio Frequency transmit and receive modules, power regulators, control boards and other bespoke assemblies. Test Engineers require knowledge and expertise in the use of a wide range of common and specialist measuring and diagnostic testing equipment (such as Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Vector Network Analysers and other Automated Testing Equipment), in order to follow a technical testing specification and process to ensure individual components and assemblies meet the required specification.
