Job Title: Head of Project Management Delivery

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience with executive level benefits including bonus and car allowance.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and manage a team of professional and managerial staff, ensuring their delivery, performance, and ongoing development, while collaborating with other business functions to achieve project goals
• Oversee the execution of complex projects and programmes, applying extensive knowledge of Project Management tools, techniques, and practices
• Ensure adherence to PM governance and assurance processes, including conducting Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and chairing LCM Reviews
• Influence both internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success, utilising strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Capture, evaluate, and share best practices across the programme to improve overall performance and delivery standards
• Apply expert-level knowledge and experience in programme management to establish standards and procedures that align with professional institutions and industry norms

Your skills and experiences:

• University level education or professional qualifications gained through industry
• Professional PM Qualification or years of practical experience gained through application of Project Management
• Background in the defence sector (Industry, MoD or Services), preferably with experience in maritime ships or submarines
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain robust relationships with customers and suppliers
• Extensive experience in supply chain management
• Proven experience working with complex blue-chip organisations
• Expertise in overseeing projects, programmes, and portfolios, providing strategic guidance
• Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities
• Established leadership experience with a record of accomplishment of success

The Project Management Delivery team:

The Head of Project Management Delivery will lead a large, complex program comprising multiple projects or work packages focused on integrating advanced electronic systems onto both in-service and newly built submarine platforms. Reporting to a programme or portfolio director, this role demands strong leadership skills to manage a team of Project Managers and collaborate closely with the customer, various business functions, subcontractors, and the supply chain to ensure successful project execution. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
