Job Title: Head of Production Transformation

Location: Samlesbury

Salary: £85,000 depending on skills and experience plus executive benefits package

 

Are you a dynamic and strategic leader ready to take on an exciting new challenge, if so, we are seeking a Head of Production Transformation, who will play a crucial part in driving transformation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across our production systems.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing and executing the US Programmes Production manufacturing strategy to align with global business goals and support future growth
  • Leading initiatives to enhance resilience across the production portfolio, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders
  • Optimizing production systems to achieve significant cost reductions and secure future production contracts
  • Deputy to US Programmes Production Director, looking across manufacturing function across the business
  • Managing a £50 million capital investment portfolio focused on modernizing production infrastructure and tooling
  • Fostering strong relationships with Service Delivery Units (SDUs) and other key stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and functional alignment
  • Providing leadership and governance within the Production Operations Senior Management Team, including mentoring and performance management of direct reports

Your skills and experiences:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, with a deep understanding of production operations and their integration within a global business context
  • Proven leadership experience in managing large, multidisciplinary teams in high-rate manufacturing environments
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing manufacturing strategies that drive operational excellence and transformation
  • Strong background in managing large capital investment projects and modernising production infrastructure
  • Ability to optimize production systems while achieving cost reductions and maintaining high-quality standards
  • Experience leading strategic transformation initiatives that align with global business ambitions
  • Excellent relationship management skills for effective collaboration with senior leadership, customers, and suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to deputize for a senior executive, effectively managing responsibilities across the manufacturing function and representing the Production Director as needed
  • Track record of successfully delivering complex programmes in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • Proven experience working with unions, ensuring effective collaboration and negotiation in a unionised environment

The Operations team:

In your role as Head of Production Transformation, you will be deputizing to the Production Director, leading transformation, and operational excellence, supervising a sizable manufacturing function, and managing a £50 million capital investment portfolio. You will also have the amazing opportunity to influence and shape the manufacturing strategy for important aircraft defence programs. You will ensure smooth communication and the development of strong relationships within the organization by working closely with senior executives and important stakeholders.
