BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate Programme you will be required to attend your site 5 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

What you will be doing
As an Nuclear Engineering Graduate, you will join an exciting team who work throughout the whole product life cycle, designing and developing systems and adapting new technologies, and supporting the build, test, commissioning and in service operation of all current, new and future classes of submarine (Astute, dreadnought and SSNA [the replacement for the Astute class of submarine]).
We also provide the opportunity to get involved in projects outside of your primary remit. We encourage you to seek a stretch project in which you’ll gain different experiences. • Power Systems Modelling (Simulation and Analysis)

• Power System Earth Fault Monitoring
PNED Engineering Activities
• Problem solving. A logical thinker with the ability to break down a problem.
• Supporting the design, build and test activities on the Naval Reactor Plant across multiple programmes.
• Receive exposure to working with a range of stakeholders across the BAE submarines network along with external stakeholders such as the Ministry of Defence.
• Facilitate programme delivery through innovative engineering solutions
• Gain knowledge of the nuclear industry and its regulations.
• Carry out Nuclear Safety assessment of submarine design changes and deviations from the submarine design intent.
• Providing technical rationale and sound engineering and design recommendations to Rolls Royce and the MoD to question existing requirements.

You should note that there is the opportunity to tailor both your Graduate experience and final role to the type of work that you find most enjoyable once you have experienced the different types of roles within the team.
Skills
As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, in electrical engineering ideally with experience of Electronic & Electronic Engineering, Control and Instrumentation, Digital and Wireless Communications or Power Generation and Distribution.
