What you will be doing As a graduate Metrologist, you will be working within an exciting and collaborative team, which pulls together knowledge and expertise from multiple engineering disciplines (including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Software specialisms), to develop, deploy and support complex measurement and monitoring systems from cradle to grave. The metrology department’s work involves taking instrumentation equipment and systems throughout their entire lifecycle from requirements to prototype, testing, commissioning and deployment. The department is involved in using specialist measurement equipment (e.g. micrometers, voltmeters, multimeters and pressure gauges) to take accurate and repeatable measurements for a wide array of parameters in new and unique ways (including temperature, dimensions, accelerometry, mass, pressure, shock, non-ionising radiation, ionising radiation, noise and vibration, torque, voltage and current). This makes the work of the department particularly diverse and varied.
