BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate programme you will be required to attend your site as and when required up to 5 days per week.

What you will be doing
As a Graduate you will join an exciting team of Designers and Engineers who work through the whole submarine life cycle. You could be involved in designing, developing and testing complex systems, components and products, as well as supporting the build of our new and future classes of Submarines including Astute, Dreadnought, and our new SSN-AUKUS.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Work together with Engineers to develop and design Submarines from initial concept right through to build.
• CAD modelling and drawing of all aspects of Submarine design, some of the main areas include External and Internal Steelwork, Electrical Systems, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Mechanical Piping Systems, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
• All work is carried out using one of three CAD systems (CADDS5X on Astute, FORAN on Dreadnought and Siemens NX on SSNA).
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills are required as you will be working alongside colleagues in your own team, Engineers and representatives from the Customer, Suppliers and other areas of the business.
• Working on one of our Functional teams, Hull Mechanics, Propulsion & Steering or Production Engineering Department.
• Full ownership of planned deliverables and responsible for liaising with operations and other cross platform functions in order to resolve engineering and build issues.
Skills
As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant STEM subject, including Mechanical, Structural Engineering or Product Design.
