Job Title: FP&A Accountant

Location: Warton. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £47,683 

 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Supporting the month-end reporting cycle ensuring all key Financial Reporting deadlines are achieved and to the required quality for group consolidation – including the collation, analysis and review of Year End statutory reporting information
  • Acting as the key point of contact representing FP&A, ensuring the Finance Director, Financial Controller and Finance team are fully supported and assist in responding to questions
  • Leading the preparation of Financial briefing packs for senior review meetings – Monthly Forecast Reviews, Management Committee Reviews, Quarterly Board Reviews
  • Supporting the Air Sector Integrated Business Plan (IBP) process (5-10 year budgeting), including preparation of reporting packs, schedules and timetables, as well as reviewing of IBP data and submissions, challenging and querying submissions and consolidation for reviews
  • Collaborating, as part of the wider Air FP&A team, with other integration leads to drive process improvements and efficiencies, supporting requirements to Air and helping embed standardisation of FP&A information across teams

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • CIMA, ACA or ACCA – Part or fully Qualified
  • Ability to prioritise/manage workload and flexibility to achieve deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, collaborate and challenge with confidence
  • Advanced Excel skills and understanding of accounting standards – month end reporting

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in statutory reporting role 
  • Experience of TM1 (Reporting tool) and Hyperion (HFM)

The Team: 

BAES Systems Air Sector is a through-life business which delivers advanced military air capability both to our UK and many overseas customers. 

As a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Accountant, based within one of the Air Line of Businesses, you will be supporting a Finance Director, Financial Controller, Finance Business Partners and broader Finance team on all aspects of business performance. This includes monthly reporting and financial analysis, Integrated Business Plan submissions, inputs for Board presentations, half year and full year statutory reporting, support to internal and external audit.  In addition, as part of the FP&A team you will collaborate with other FP&A team members to drive process improvements and efficiencies, help embed standardisation of FP&A information across teams and help develop data analytics models to assess trends and drive performance.
