Job Description

Job title: Finance Business Partner

Location: Rochester- We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £45,000 dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting or generating key financial assumptions, reviewing programme performance, constructively challenging the business and make recommendations to course-correct
  • Operate robust and effective financial controls in line with Financial Control Framework and Finance Policies manual, collaborating with the Project Finance Process Owners, Finance Control CC and Governance CC. Support external and internal audit as required
  • Support the production of timely insights, analysis and business intelligence to drive performance including ensuring timely working capital cycle for projects
  • Support project teams on whole life of projects, including initial setup, forecasting, trading, reporting and analysis, and closure
  • Potential to take on Line Management responsibility for 1-3 team members following successful integration into the organisation

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), Qualified by Experience or studying final exams
  • Experience working in a Project Finance role including financial planning & reporting
  • Good knowledge of Excel and the ability to quickly learn new IT applications
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels including project managers and multi-functional teams
  • The ability to work accurately and adapt to change and/or prioritise to meet key deadlines

The Project Accounting Team:

Reporting to the business group finance lead, the successful candidate will provide a project accounting service to the business which will involve both business partnering and financial control for a group of projects within a defined business area.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of project accounting where at BAE Systems it is not just about providing financial information to stakeholders, it is about being integrated in the multi-functional Project Team, ensuring we work together to maximise the value we create within our business.

Electronic Systems is a transatlantic business entity combining design, production and support capabilities in both the UK and USA to provide market leading capabilities into the Defence and Commercial Avionics markets. Electronic Systems is a Line of Business within BAE Systems Inc. North America.
