Job Description:
Would you like to be involved in the development and delivery of training solutions for the Lightning II programme platform and equipment? We currently have a vacancy for a F-35 Maintenance Instructor – Avionic at our site in RAF Marham.
As an F35 Maintenance Instructor, you will be responsible for providing academic and practical instruction, unit assessment and support to students in the classroom and on a range of training devices.
This is an on base role that involves face to face teaching of students.
Core duties:
- Being available for student assistance and support, including carrying out remedial training, revision, and assessment re-sits
- Recording of student progress and participate in the signing of training records
- Evaluating and validating courseware within the F35 Training Management System (TMS) that affects Avionics trade training. Report via the Training Systems Support Centre as required. Continually review all courses detailed within TMS and propose/raise any changes necessary to the TSSC
- Promoting Health and Safety awareness to all subordinates and Trainees iaw BAE Systems and Station policy
- Adhere to the ethos and standards set out within both the Defence Code of Practice for Trainers and the BAE Systems Company Code of Conduct
Essential Skills:
- Level 3 Qualification in Aerospace Engineering/Aircraft Maintenance in appropriate discipline (Avionics/Electrical) or equivalent experience
- Experience of military aircraft maintenance including experience at supervisory level
- Knowledge of military avionic systems e.g. Air Intercept RADAR / GMTI RADAR, L16, EO Sensors, Cryptographic key material handling
- Level 3 qualification in education and training or equivalent experience – desirable
The Training Delivery Team:
As an F-35 Maintenance Instructor (Avionics), you will be part of a small, specialist team responsible for delivering both theoretical and practical training, while also supporting the design and development of innovative training solutions. In addition to training delivery, you will play a key role in shaping solutions that ensure training is fully integrated within the wider capability, supporting operational requirements and incorporating modern teaching methodologies and emerging technologies.
You will be part of the Training Delivery team, you will contribute to the delivery of training across a broad range of ground-based disciplines, including Mechanical, Weapons, Avionics, ALIS, Mission Planning, and other specialist areas such as OML, Engine Ground Operations, and Aircraft Weight and Balance. This provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your knowledge, develop new skills, and expand your instructional experience beyond avionics.
