Job Title: Technical Illustration lead

Location: Warton – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £56,766+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinating, supervising and managing the Technical Illustration staff including training and development needs
  • Monitoring, QA (quality assurance/quality control) and co-ordinating all illustration projects produced for internal Technical Authors, EPC’s (Eurofighter partner companies), external suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Leading accordance with the Eurofighter specification SP-J-0-E-0019, Tornado AvP70 and Tornado MIL Specifications 
  • Maintaining appropriate spend, achievement and progress status and provide specific reports as required for budgets and timescales allocated in support of all programme deliverables
  • Maintaining the validity of information held in databases; Mercury, UltraCSDB, IMACS & TPUBS in order to provide concise and accurate information
  • Liaising with BAE Systems internal & external Customers and Contract teams
  • Supporting regular engagements and meetings with stakeholders and provide support to future capability topics, new project bids and technical review packs and embracing the development and application of technology and systems to achieve business driven objectives

Your skills and experiences:

  • Professional Technical Illustration Degree/HND qualification or equivalent experience working as a Technical Illustrator within the Aircraft Industry
  • Previous experience of managing Technical Illustrator / Author professionals (SME’s)
  • Ability to understand and create technical and engineering drawings from source data and deliver suitable product deliverables across all customer bases
  • Previous People management and ability to effectively communicate on all levels

The Technical Illustration Team – Fast Jet Support team:

The position of Group Leader is to manage the Technical Illustration Team and the total production of technical illustrations and associated documentation to the Fast Jet Support, Engineering Capability, Technical Information Services and Data Products IPD, AGE customers.
