Role Description:

We have a great opportunity for an Engineering Support/ILS Officer to join our Maritime Sustainment business, working on the newest ship platform, the Hobart Class DDG naval ships. Reporting to the ILS Lead, you will provide ILS/IPS engineering support (Integrated Logistics Support/Integrated Product Support), and will be employed on a permanent full time basis

Core Duties:

  • Analyse logistic support (ILS/IPS) engineering data and maintenance documentation on equipment/systems, and provide governance, assurance and recommendations ensuring the effective operation of equipment/systems
  • Review and provide ILS/IPS specialist inputs to the design and development of solutions, ensuring the outputs meet the operational needs of the customer and end-user
  • Review the delivery of Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Analysis, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
  • Collate equipment/systems sparing analysis, checking availability on spares, and support the review of modifications to maintenance packs
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and ensure logistics supportability engineering analysis best practice, sound advice and analysis is provided
  • Identify and investigate ILS/IPS supportability engineering problems and risks, formulating strategies for their resolution

Essential Skills:

  • Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)/IPS, or logistics engineering or supportability technical experience – Candidates with maintenance/technical experience, will also be considered
  • Knowledge of Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Analysis, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
  • Sound computer skills, the ability to analyse technical data and provide sound recommendations
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Whilst not essential, an understanding of support system naval ship requirements/standards or Defence industry experience, will be highly regarded
