JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

Advice Primary Calibration Manager on technical, logistical and strategic issues relating to the operations and activities of standard equipment and Primary Calibration Squadron to support all Royal Saudi Air Force weapon platforms, Communication Systems, Ground Radar, Royal Saudi Naval Forces and Royal Saudi Land Forces.
Supervise and lead the Primary Calibration Squadron (PCS), production and workforce. Report to Primary Calibration Manager and PCS officer all technical major changes regularly.
Generate reports and study strategical plans regarding employees’ developments, capabilities, workflow, etc… to Primary Calibration Manager
Assist the Primary Calibration Manager in all required duties.
Apply measurement science, mathematics, physics, to develop, document and maintain calibration systems, procedures and methods for electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental and/or chemical test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) based on analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements. Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures. Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes. Recommend calibration standards and TMDE.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage and maintain the Primary Calibration Squadron in accordance with RASF 4-7702.
Lead the workforce in accordance with BAESYSTEMS policies.
Establish an accurate understanding of the Customer’s concerns and requirements, through regular and direct contact with RSAF and Base personnel.
Provide the Primary Calibration Manager with analysis regarding significant trends, new plans and results of weekly/monthly/yearly production regarding Primary Calibration Squadron.
Advice the Primary Calibration Manager on hiring and training plans, new standard equipment acquisition, laboratories utilization, and technical subjects.
Provide Primary Calibration Manager & PCS officer with all technical major changes regularly.
Ensure quality, SHE and technical standards are applied within the laboratories and among department team.
Carry out all defined inspections, assessments, evaluations, and investigations as defined in RSAF Manuals and BAE policies.
Be able to resolve issues that fall outside normal technical processes and procedures through innovative and creative thinking.
Act as a hiring manager for all positions within the department. Write technical interview questions, contribute in interviews and the selecting of successful candidates.
Have the ability to review task performance against set objectives and to adapt / react accordingly.
Have the ability to assume the role of Primary Calibration Manager during periods of his absence and effectively manage the duties and responsibilities of that position.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Hold a university degree in an appropriate subject (e.g. Physics, Electrical, electro-mechanics, Mechanical or Computer Science) or any other qualification approved by MetCal Wing Commander
Must have extensive technical knowledge about TMDE, calibration equipment and laboratories management.
Must have extensive practical experience in technical calibration production, the most recent two years of which will be at a senior level with supervisory experience within MetCal
Must have the ability to identify future requirements of the RSAF Metrology Program and to develop strategic plans and initiaves to acoomdate such requirements
Must be familiar with and able to use Microsoft Office softward and Management Information Systems applications to an advanced level.
Must be highly organized and have the ability to multitask
Must be able to communicate effectively with high levels of management within the RSAF and Company with proper fact, protocol and diplomacy.
Must possess a high standard of personal integrity, be capable of sensitive and tactful handling of personnel issues and fully committed to working to a high standard of ethical behaviours
Capable of supervising a department, work as a technical advisor as well as a willingness to be a member or a leader of any RSAF projects related to MetCal in Dhahran or out of Dhahran.
Knowledgeable about primary calibration methods and different type of metrology. Have an understanding of national and international metrology activities and technical exchanges.
Will have operated successfully at a senior level in a complex technical production organization and have extensive practical experience in a modern military or civilian technical environment.
