What you’ll be doing:
- Writing technical specifications and other technical documentation
- Liaising and collaborating with external suppliers and the customer
- Analysing and resolving engineering issues that occur during platform
- Providing technical consultation to multi-discipline stakeholders on the electrical systems
- Preparing technical reports, calculations, and presentations to communicate results and recommendations effectively
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Qualified Electrical Engineer (ONC/HNC/HND/Degree level or appropriate experience)
- Experience in the design of Electrical Systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Desirable
- Knowledge of AC & DC Systems
- Understanding of Power Generation, Distribution and Conversion Equipment
- Experience working within the defence or heavy engineering sectors

The Power System team:
As an Engineer within the electrical team, you will be responsible for supporting the build, test and commissioning, and in service safety of Royal Navy operational vessels. To do this, the team dynamically resolve engineering issues throughout the build, utilising expertise to advise internal and external stakeholders across various functions on the most effective way ahead. The team also specify equipment requirements within the Electrical Power System and manage the technical delivery from staged design reviews through to design completion, working closely with external suppliers to meet the standards of engineering excellence required to provide the Royal Navy. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
