Job Title: Engineer – Aerodynamics Toolset Development and Modelling

Salary: £41,361 + depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop new Aerodynamics Engineering toolsets. Including the planning and reporting on progress of new toolset releases
- Liaising and working with Aerodynamic Discipline Teams and Projects to collate and harmonise requirements and future developments to provide a common engineering toolset
- Develop future initiatives to align with Digitial Engineering framework and MBSE
- Promote and support the toolsets with the Aerodynamic Engineering Community
Your skills and experiences:
- Experience of software development, methods, practices and version control systems.
- Experience of MATLAB/Simulink toolset.
- Experience of working with teams co-ordinating and integrating requirements.
- Knowledge of Linux systems and other software languages, Python, Java etc would be beneficial.
- Degree level qualification in a STEM subject
- A logical thinker, problem solver and an eye for detail
- Good teamworking, interpersonal and communication skills

The Operations Design Development Test & Evaluation Aerodynamics team:
Working within the Operations Design Development Test & Evaluation Aerodynamics team at either the Warton or Brough sites offers a dynamic and pivotal role in aerospace engineering. This position is part of the Aerodynamic Toolset Development and Modelling Team, where the primary responsibility involves coordinating and advancing engineering toolsets and models specific to aerodynamics. The focus is on developing MATLAB/Simulink-based toolsets within established governance frameworks and best practices. This role is instrumental in supporting Aerodynamics Discipline engineering analyses and future activities across all projects, including both future and in-service aircraft. It presents an exciting opportunity to gain comprehensive insight into the broader workings of the Aerodynamics team and associated projects, fostering invaluable experience for potential future roles in aircraft/weapon system engineering or specialized aerodynamics fields. This role is not only about toolset development but also about contributing to the strategic advancement and innovation within the realm of aerodynamics engineering.
