Job Title: Electrical Integration Design Engineer
Location: Portsmouth Naval Base. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.
Salary: up to £40,000 dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Producing Integration Design Solutions for the introduction of new equipment into Maritime Platforms, activities consisting of:
– Liaison with MoD Customer and Industry Partners throughout the Design process
– Ship Survey(s)
– Production of an Installation Solution Pack consisting of Electrical/System Drawings, Penetrations, Cable Data Sheets, Bill of Materials and associated Installation Instructions
- Production of Ship Feasibility studies
- Liaise with MoD and Industry Partners in the development of Integration Requirements
- Undertake Ship Surveys in support of Equipment Material State Reports, Equipment Configuration Control and Ship Power and Load Chart Management
- Configuring and Maintaining Ship Databases for Electrical Power Distribution and Blown Fibre Networks
- Support Ship-build electrical detailed design activities across the Business
- Provide a technical input to the Product Safety of Design Services deliverables
Your skills and experiences:
- Knowledge of Electrical Systems theory
- Interpret and apply Electrical Design Standards
- Working knowledge of Electrical Installation Practices and Electrical Distribution Systems
- ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with some familiarity of AUTOCAD & FORAN toolsets

Our Team of engineers has a varied background coming from a combination of Industry, Armed Forces Service Leavers and through our own BAE Apprenticeship Schemes. Working in tandem with our Structures, HVAC, Mechanical and Safety Teams we provide through life electrical engineering support to all Royal Naval Surface Fleet, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Submarine Platforms. This role will offer you the opportunity to be a part of and help shape the future support of world class vessels within the Defence Industry.
