Job title: Electrical Engineering SME and Data Manager

Location: Warton. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £54,793+ dependent on skills and experience

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Requirements gathering and solution design
  • Solution development, unit testing, code review, peer testing, performance testing
  • Writing and assembling process, technical and user documentation, release notes etc
  • Co-ordinating and performing release activities
  • Ensuring adherence to development lifecycle, coding and quality standards
  • As Electrical Data Manager, you will audit Electrical Project Data to ensure that the integrity of the Logical and Physical System based Data, and Loom Data, is maintained and that Customer Data is correctly extracted from the Master Engineering Database
  • As Electrical IT Capability Lead, you will keep abreast of innovations in Electrical Capability and new regulations
  • Work with Business Heads, Electrical Subject Matter Experts, Customer Air Forces, Partner Companies and IT Suppliers to maximise Electrical Capability into the business

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Electrical engineering domain knowledge covering electrical engineering, design, planning, manufacturing, testing, maintenance, upgrades and repairs
  • Ability to work collaboratively in customer-facing roles, manage stakeholders effectively, and demonstrate technical fluency

Desirable:

  • A good working knowledge of the BAE Systems WDMS application
  • A good working knowledge of the Siemens Capital Suite application
  • Advanced Oracle SQL and SQL/Plus

The Engineering Systems Competency Centre (ESCC) – Electrical Development:

Within the Electrical Development team of the ESCC, you will take professional responsibility for technical activities involved in the design, integration and through-life support of electrical engineering software tools to budget, schedule and to the appropriate quality level to enable the ESCC customers to achieve their business goals. The ESCC team play a key role in developing bespoke software applications tailored to support all aircraft platforms, ensuring compatibility with any aircraft type. They create and maintain electrical data management software utilised by circa 1000 users, providing robust engineering and customer support across the UK, Qatar, Oman, and KSA. In this customer-facing role, engineers work closely with clients to understand new requirements, translating them into effective software solutions that meet operational needs.
