What you will be doing As a Data Analyst Apprentice you will experience, learn and develop key skills to help you manage complex projects. You will help to ensure that the project you are assigned to stays on track by conducting a range of analytical studies. You will: maintain, update and report on key project data; identify any potential issues as the project progresses and help make effective decisions to assist the project in achieving its objectives. You will be using the latest analytical tools to assist the planning and decision making across the programmes and the Project Management and Controls Function. Over the duration of the scheme you will gain exposure to different areas of your business unit, working on a variety of projects across different platforms and at different stages of the project lifecycle. Data Analyst Apprentices will undertake a maximum of four 12 monthly placements. During these placements you will work with integrated teams and start building a professional network of contacts. You will experience different Projects/Programmes during these placements to provide you with broad business knowledge. A Data Analyst professional is not just office based, you will have the opportunity to get out and about visiting key stakeholders across various locations as well as seeing the work you are supporting in situ. In work based placements there will be a strong emphasis on the key knowledge, skills and behaviours set out by the academic standard as well as our own business standards and competencies. These will be incorporated into placement objectives that will be reviewed continuously throughout the scheme with support from a Placement Manager, the Project Management & Controls Function and our Early Careers team. Overview of Business Unit Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century. The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes. Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world’s most complex engineering challenges. Qualification requirements |
5 GCSEs A*-C or 4-9 (or equivalent) including Maths and English & 96 UCAS Tariff Points (240 point old system), or equivalent (excluding UCAS points gained at AS level), including Maths and one of the following subjects; English, IT/Computer Science or a business/science/engineering related subject including Law and Psychology. Digital Business Services-T-level. |
