Job title: Project Management IT Apprentice

Location: Preston

Salary: Starting from £23,000 with annual progression through the scheme duration.

What you’ll be doing:

•    You will experience different placements working within Shared Services in the Enterprise IT business which supports all our BAE Systems sectors in the UK, giving you the opportunity to make a rewarding contribution to the work we do.
•    You will learn the knowledge required to successfully manage our complex projects and programmes such as, developing leadership and change management skills, understanding how to utilise project management tools, methods and developing strategic plans within our IT Project Management teams. 
•    You’ll learn how to manage budgets, schedules, risks and resources, applying project governance and tools. 
•    Placements could include working with the Business Change and Business Relationship teams within our IT Operations.
•    Alongside technical knowledge, you’ll build communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills with behaviours focussed on professionalism, adaptability and accountability. 

What Qualification Will You Get?

Project Manager (Integrated Degree, BSc Hons in Project Management) Level 6.
The Project Management Degree Apprenticeship is delivered by the University of Cumbria which is held on campus at Lancaster University with a mixture of in person attendance and online delivery sessions.

Export Control/Security:

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks. Click here for more information on national security vetting levels.

Qualification requirements

5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-4 / A*-C  which must include Maths & English AND 96 UCAS Points (or equivalent) (excluding UCAS points gained at AS level)
