About the OPPORTUNITY:

The HCF Program has an exciting permanent opportunity for a Test & Commissioning (T&C) Data Tools Specialist to join the team. Reporting to the HCF Program T&C Engineering Manager, you’ll manage and govern a completions management tool that tracks and verifies commissioning activities. This digital tool ensures that every piece of equipment is installed, tested, and documented correctly, a crucial role within the T&C Department.

With a background in commissioning environments, data governance, working with databases and configuration management, you’ll ensure the digital tool has the necessary documentation available for our operational staff, so they can accurately track and record verification points throughout the ship. Your role will be key in maintaining the tool’s data integrity, maintenance efficiency and progress.

This position is based at Osborne Shipyard in Adelaide, however we can offer flexible work options, including hybrid work arrangements and a 9-day fortnight.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing and governing a digital completion tool
  • Maintain and report on data alignment between systems
  • Collaborate with field teams, engineering leads, and stakeholders to ensure accurate, accessible, and documented commissioning data is available in the tool.
  • Administer and configure T&C tables, hierarchies, and relationships
  • Develop and maintain tool templates and sheets
  • Manage tool permissions and authorities
  • Ensure compliance with security, export, and legal requirements
  • Generate tool processes and user guides
  • Prepare and distribute T&C program metrics from the tool
  • Audit tool data for adherence to program plans and processes
  • Train and mentor the T&C team on toolset usage
  • Ensure adherence to data standards and policies

About YOU:

  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Background in a commissioning environment and governing digital tools (highly desirable)
  • Experience digital tools, databases, or configuration management systems (highly desirable)
  • Shipbuilding and marine systems (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with large datasets, reports, structured and compartmentalised documentation.
  • Hold a relevant qualification that’s industry recognised.
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills to tackle technical challenges across functions.
  • Skilled in planning and coordination to keep tasks on track.
  • Experienced in computer-based commissioning documentation and work instructions.
